TODAY'S WORD FOR Wednesday, June 19, 2019:
Uneasiness because of fear of danger or misfortune; worried; distressed.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
How many times a day do you become anxious or worry about something? The scripture is very clear: If you are a believer in Jesus you should be anxious for nothing at any time. Do not let worry, fear or anxiety take root in your mind. When the enemy rages like a lion, resist him and he will flee.
The enemies you face in life are not only people but things. Things like movies, alcohol, pornography, television and even cell phones can bring destructive forces of evil into our lives that lead to sin. With sin comes anxiety. We must examine what we are putting into our mind. We must ask God to help us focus on what is good and right.
We need to resist every thought that we receive that is contrary to the Word of God and kick them out of our minds.
We need to be willing to call upon God and let our requests (the enemies in our life) be known. It is an act of faith to pray and ask God for His intervention.
Like a good father’s delight to answer his child and supply him or her with their wishes, how much more does your Heavenly Father delight to answer your cry and supply your need. He knows what we need even before we ask. It is our asking that is His delight.
Resist the enemies in your life and give no ground to worry, fear or anxiety. Let the peace of God pour over you hour by hour and day by day. God is your great Supplier. Turn your worries into prayers.
Our memory verse this week is found in James 1:22.
But be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Help me, dear Lord, to keep the presence of worry, fear and anxiety out of my life. Help me to focus on You and Your Word and turn my anxieties and worries into prayers. Conquer the enemies in my life so that I can be a testimony to others daily.
